La Lee Lee Performance

For four years I have been working on characters and approaches to dance that are moved by forces in and around us; driving us to be violent, fearful, inert, and apathetic; as well as altruistic, empathetic, and peacefully powerful. I have made dances expressing damaged states that resulted directly or indirectly from war; dances inspired by PTSD, physical limitation, and fragmentation of the psyche. In the process, the full spectrum of expression has unexpectedly recharged itself for me.
